Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Pakistan finally ended their World Cup hoodoo against arch-rivals India in emphatic fashion, registering a thumping 10-wicket victory in their Super 12 match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday.
Openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were the stars of the show, putting on an unbroken 152-run partnership to chase down India's total of 151/7 with ease. It was Pakistan's first win over India in a World Cup match, and it came in their sixth attempt.
Earlier, India were put into bat by Pakistan captain Babar Azam, and they made a shaky start, losing three wickets in the powerplay.
Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant then steadied the innings with a 53-run partnership, but Pakistan bowlers kept chipping away and restricted India to a below-par total.
